The museum is open daily, except Mondays:

November – March  11am to 5pm
April – October  10am to 5pm

Special holiday hours:

Open on 1st January from 2pm
Open on Easter Monday and Whit Monday
Closed on 25 December

Seniors / Full-time students / Disabled / Military: CHF 12.-
Children under 16 in the company of an adult: free

KulturLegi: 40% discount on admission (adults): CHF 9 instead of CHF 15

Groups of more than 10: CHF 12.- per person

Romont can also be reached in 30 min by train from Lausanne or Bern:

  • Stop “Romont FR, gare” (15 minutes walk from the museum)
  • Stop “Romont FR, gare” then bus stop “Ecole primaire” (bus stop, 3 minutes walk from the museum)

Photos

Photography and Filming at Vitromusée Romont

In the Vitromusée Romont, photography without flash and filming for purely private purposes are generally permitted. However, objects marked with a photography ban may not be photographed. The use of bulky aids such as tripods, selfie sticks or telephoto lenses is not permitted. Please also note that visitors to the Vitromusée Romont are themselves responsible for compliance with copyright law.

Prior permission is required for commercial, professional and scientific purposes. Please send your request, stating the intended use and full contact information to: [email protected]. We require at least 20 days to process your application.

Venue hire

The magnificent historic setting of the castle is available for hire to host small conferences, concerts, receptions, or simple get-togethers:

Weddings

The Salle St-Luc is an official Registry Office for weddings. It can accommodate 40 guests.

Every Friday afternoon and on the second Saturday of the month, unless otherwise required, the castle welcomes the engaged couple, their families and friends for an exceptional experience.

The Vitroboutique

The Vitroboutique offers you a wide range of glass objects, jewellery, books, etc. It is accessible free of charge during museum opening hours.

Jewellery

In our boutique you’ll find a wide and varied selection of necklaces, rings and bracelets, at all prices; they are the work of top-quality glass artists who have been working with us for several years, bringing you unique and original glass creations. We also offer a magnificent selection of glass necklaces from Langani, known for over 60 years for the beauty of its creations.

Books

The shop offers a wide selection of books on stained glass, glass painting and glass art for specialists and novices alike. These books also include publications produced in cooperation with the Vitrocentre Romont.

Postcards

We also offer a wide selection of postcards of contemporary stained glass, paintings under glass and glass works. You’ll find postcards of works from our permanent collection and our temporary exhibitions, as well as a wide selection of postcards of stained glass by Chagall, of major works from the region (Brian Clarke’s stained glass windows at La Fille-Dieu, Mehoffer’s at Fribourg Cathedral) and from Switzerland (Königsfelden, Lausanne Cathedral, etc.).

Artists’ creations

One of the missions of the Vitromusée Romont is to promote contemporary glass art. Our shop reflects the richness and diversity of this fascinating art form. Several artists invite you to discover some of their latest creations.

Souvenirs

We offer you the chance to take home a small glass souvenir from our museum: animals, sweets, vases, glasses, mugs, candle-holders… Our vast and colourful selection will delight young and old alike!

The Vitrocafé

Visitors can enjoy a relaxing break at the Vitrocafé in the unique setting of the Orangerie and its contemporary stained-glass windows. A variety of drinks and sweets are available at the museum reception desk.
