Les Fribourgeoises sortent de l’ombre
The Vitromusée Romont is delighted to welcome the exhibition “Les Fribourgeoises sortent de l’ombre”, entirely developed by 10H pupils (aged 13-14) from the Glâne, Veveyse and Sarine Ouest orientation cycles. The third part of a travelling educational project – Musée Gutenberg (2021), Musée gruérien (2022), then jointly Musée des grenouilles in Estavayer-le-Lac and Musée de Morat (2024) – the exhibition looks at the place of Fribourg women in pre-industrial and industrial societies. At the Vitromusée Romont, students study, revisit and comment on the history of female workers at the Semsales glass factory (1776-1914) and the representation of women in 18th-century secular paintings under glass and 20th-century religious stained-glass windows.
