La Verrerie artistique de Saint-Prex. Innovations artistiques et techniques
The exhibition concept emerged from a research project conducted by the Vitrocentre Romont. On display are approximately 200 works created by the Verrerie artistique de Saint-Prex between 1930 and 1964, now housed in Swiss public and private collections. This exhibition presents the first comprehensive production timeline, based on an analysis of the works’ technical, stylistic, and formal characteristics, newly accessible archival material, and interviews with former collaborators or their heirs. Featuring around twenty selected works, the exhibition also sheds light on the international glass art movements that influenced Saint-Prex, as well as the thriving Swiss ceramics scene of the time. Finally, it underscores the significance of this Vaud glassworks within the landscape of Swiss glass art.
