Without compromise - Sylvia Oeggerli. Reversed painting on glass

The cabinet exhibition at the Vitromusée Romont is dedicated to the work of Sylvia Oeggerli and takes place in the Salle des Baillis. After a long career in drawing, painting and engraving, the Swiss artist turned to reverse glass painting some forty years ago. By combining this technique with that of woodcut, which requires a hard and precise gesture, she developed a very personal and uncompromising style. Her paintings radiate a subtle balance between superimposed layers of colour and linear structures engraved with the knife, which convey dynamism and expressiveness.
